South Africa is famous for the apartheid and Nelson Mandela. It is country of beautiful landscape and nature. The wildlife and beaches are spectacular. May be there are many things about South Africa but here is the ten things you never knew.

English is one of the official languages in South African, South Africa has a total of eleven official languages and the South Africa national anthem is has five languages.
South Africa has some of the oldest rocks in the world. The rocks at the Barberton in Mpumalanga are over three billions years old making them the most ancient and oldest rocks in the whole world. The world is over four billions years old, making the rocks just some few years younger.
With many waterfalls all over the world South Africa has the second highest water falls in the whole world. The Tugela Falls is found in the Drakensberg Mountain. The waterfall offers unique adventure and spectacular views. It is an all round water fall.(image by South African Tourism).
Man made hole
South Africa has the biggest manmade hole in the world, the jagers fontein mine. Dug by some miners who were looking for diamond the hole is known to have produced over twenty four thousands tones of diamond.
South Africa has the third highest level of the biodiversity which includes more that eighteen thousand vascular plant species.
South Africa has the longest wine route in the whole world. The R62 wine route is eight hundred and fifty kilometers and it passes through Kleinkaroo, Robertson, Worcester, Fulbagh and Wellington. South Africa has one of the finest water quality in the world. The clean water is available in most households including the slums. With most of slums dwellers getting tapped clean water for free and in their houses.
Blue flag status
South Africa is the first country in Africa to be honored with the blue flag status for its quality coastal area. The costal areas of South Africa are among the best holiday destinations in the world. With thousands of marine life.
Sutherland in the Northern Cape Town has he best clearest and darkest night skies. It also known as the most stable places on earth geologically. It is located close to the old volcano which isn’t fully extinct.
